Does my cattleya need the tall pot?

I repotted my cattleya into your 6 inch pot and just placed it outside. It still needs the dry period without water in the bottom. But i was worried about how it sat in the pot. Does it need the tall pot or is this ok?

Good looking plant!

That pot looks fine to me.
Having said that, I like the tall profile pots for many things - including cattleya. You might think about moving it to a 6" tall later this summer - maybe August.

Cattleya can take a little morning or afternoon sun. Make it a gradual move - being careful to not burn leaves at first.
